2002 K1200RS windshield

My K1200RS has the stock two position windshield. I've been told the stock GT windshield is larger. How much larger is it? I bought my bike second hand so is there a measurement I can take to verify I don't have that shield already?

Now that it's colder, I need a little wind relief. Thanks.

A GT windscreen measures:
19 1/2" top to bottom and 21" wide at it's widest point.
Yes, it helps a lot in the winter. Also, with barbacks mounted the mirrors might tip the screen when in the down position at full lock.

The GT screen (which is 4" taller than the RS screen) and the Laminar Lip is the best combination for colder weather riding.

Not all 1200RSs are the same. Somewhere around 2002-03 the windsheild and dash area were changed, the mount holes are different on the bottom arms.
If you have the early bikes you may have to go Parabellum for winter.

2002 was the change.
