Ngk Dpr7eix-9, Bosch O2 15727

I just bought a set of NGK Iridium plugs DPR7EIX-9 for my K1200RS........They came without the adapters that screw at the end where you plug the wires. They also require a 18mm socket (I always used 11/16 or 17mm for Bosch plugs) The BMW wrench does fit but I do not want to use that contraption to install my plugs.......so no new plugs until I go back to town (150 Miles) Unless I scavenge my old Toyota for the adapters, that is if there is any on it and if they have the same threads......!!!!!!)

At least I figured out that you do not really have to remove the fairing to replace the plugs, just unscrew the belly pan on that side, remove all the screws at the back of the fairing, then you can pull it out enough to work in there with the right ratchet and extensions.

For the O2 sensor, that famous Bosch 15727, I did search online, through most of the Autoparts websites (and some oxygen sensor websites) all you need to do is punch the 15727 number in their search box and something usually comes up. Big differences in prices, from $54.00 all the way to $120.00 for the same sensor.

For all of you canadians, they are on sale at Canadian Tire this week, 40%off, will cost you $63.00 and cents (and Tax...) They had to order mine in but they do have it listed in their system.

The plugs I got and installed did not have the -9
they are just DPR7EIX and they fit fine NO adapter. I did have to use a smaller socket. They have been in for 30,000 mile now.

I used them for a whole 2 hours...the the heat shields will not snap on because the hex on the plugs are smaller and will not carry the heat away from the plug...and it ran kinda crapy

You guys both mentioned a smaller socket or hex.......kind of strange, the Bosch plugs I took out of there were 17mm, the NGK definitely 18mm........18.03mm with the calipers...! I did not check how they fitted with the heat shields, but the wires went back in there nice and tight and the bike runs fine. I did however have to take the adapters out of my Toyota Bush Car and locktite them in there, other than that I should be OK for 30,000 miles....!
