OK... what are these?

I am piecing my new to me 2003 K12RS back and have a few Q's ....

1.) The microfiche do not ID the black plastic piece I call a wind deflector. My bike is missing the clutch side (see photo). Is this a BMW piece or an aftermarket?

2.) The spedo cluster mount clips are snapped (see photo #2). I am thinking of JB welding them or looking for another fix suggestion that would hold the cluster in place. The part is over $130... but the switchout of all those wires will be a pain. Any advice on this appreciated...

The wind deflector is a BMW piece, I think the GTs came standard with them but not the RS. So you can buy them either as a painted part or flat black like yours or mine. Someone else had the numbers all dug up somewhere else, I'll try to remember where....!

The cluster, JB weld may work, but you could carefully drill small holes on each sides of the break and thread some small zap straps around it to reinforce it, I've done that a few times on plastic parts.

Ooops...edit, I found those hand protectors, but not on the parts fiche.....

There you go:

The P/Ns for the unpainted ones are:
46637663201 - Left
46637663202 - Right
They're currently listed at $37 each at Max and Chicago BMW.

Honda CB 750 F at 18
Honda V45 Sabre at 24

BMW R100GS at 34
BMW K1200RS at 53

Yes, the black wind deflectors came standard on the GT but not RS. I added them to mine. You can order and install easily. They don't eliminate hand wind but at higher speeds definitely reduce the wind on hands. My gloves also get less wet from the front when roads are wet.
JB weld would probably be ok but I would opt for a mechanical attachment to be safe. Zip ties or small screws. Can you put screws through the original holes by using oversized washers.
White zip ties are generally not UV rated, so consider using black ones.

Finally found them again in realOEM.com
You have to use "Europe" in your region box to start searching.
The dang things are up to $45. a pop on OEM.
If I remember correctly, I spacered the wind guards up a little using nylon washers to protect the paint under the guard and take a little pressure off the hand guard rubber strip between the guard and side panel.

The black wind deflectors also add a bit of protection to your upper body. My earlier version with the original style fairing front will not accept these add ons, different mirror pods. But I rode my buddy's 04 GT (pretty much identical other than my mods and the fairing nose) and found that these guys help keep a bit of the air off the body core, not a lot, but a little.
