I haven't tried those, but they are marketed as highperformace tire and have less tread depth. I would expect to replace those in less than 5K miles.

Roadsmarts seems to be the tires better suited for this bike and they certainly have deeper tread.

d616 tire looks interesting, too

the 616 looks interesting, I run down a fair bit dirt and gravel roads. I bought the Q2 based on the review by Pirate on IBMW.Com 4-5K seems OK for the performance level. I've gone through 2 sets of PRII's and at 4K they are very s2 off with a definate ridge. I've got close to 7K on them but I'm not enjoying the feel.

In the last 2 years have I used 3 sets Metz Z6, 2 Michelin PR2s and I am on my second set of Dunlop Q2s. They are easily my favorite but they do only last about 2/3 as long as the others. The PR2s are right up there but the characteristics of the tires are not the same I really like the lighter, neutral feel of the Q2s

I'll be putting on my new Q2's next week. It's also occured to me to try just a plain ol' touring radial that's built for long wear. Not sure what that would be though.

I would do the Michelin Pilot Road 2 again in a heart beat. Bike runs straightest with these. The wear out as a pair for me about 10k. Handle great but bike falls into low speed turns a bit and just not as light and neutral feelings as the Q2s.

Just clicked off my 1st 100mi on my new Q2's. I like them, my bike feels like it's been on a major diet. It sweetly falls into the turns and holds the line I choose. I didn't push them very hard but at the end of the 100 I'm looking forward to more.

Keep us updated, especially as to feel in cool and or damp conditions versus dry and warm. Pilot Powers were fun on my K12RS in the dry, but did not like them in the cold and wet mornings here on the coast. The PR2cts are great in all conditions so far and at 4,000 miles look great on my S. I would expect the Q2 to be comparable to the Power so am interested in their performance/ feel in adverse weather, etc.

We are supposed to have a very mild winter here in VA so with any luck they will be through their duty cycle by Feb.-March.

Dont't want to start another tire thread, but I wonder about a set of regular ol' touring tires for the KRS something that will be able to roll for 12-18K......Something like Elite 3's

Sacrafice a bit of the Sport feel for 3 less sets of tire per yr.

I never went for a full touring level, have only stayed with sport to sport touring tires. Best I have gotten was a little over 8,000 miles on BT010F/020R combos, but was very consistent there through several sets. D205s were great in 2000-2003, but the D220s that replaced them did not wear well for me. It seems there is a significant difference in feel on this bike between the sport and sport-tour, so I would imagine there would be even more to the touring rubber.
