Shifting Problem

I have a 04 K1200GT that ran fine yesterday. Pulled it out this morning, found that it won't shift past second gear. Up and down with first, second and neutral, no problem, can't get it into third. Any ideas?

First you want to adjust/lube all the linkages at the shifter.....it will do that if the adjuster/threaded rod/ball joint is not lined properly. Let me see if I can find an old post on that with pics.....!

H96669- Thanks for the quick reply and advice. I'll give that a shot when I get home tonight. Thanks again.

No clue about the problem. Got home tonight, shifts fine. I'll lube the linkages anyway.
