Paint Code For Taxi- Dakar Yellow

Howdy all. Im trying to repoaint the old K1200RS and would like to match the Taxi Dakar Yellow. Does anyone have the paint code for the 'dull' yellow they call Dakar Yellow? THe dealer wants the VIN number but the bike i is blue now. Or, does anyone have the VIN for a Taxi? That would work too.

Thanks in advance

He probably wants your "Vehicle Identification Number", that's on your registration I hope and stamped on the frame under the brake pedal. All you should need is the last digits starting with "Z". Just got some touch-up paint last week and that's all I needed for the dealer to get the part number out.

Dakar Yellow 3, that should be a 337 paint code but doublecheck in there:

Benelli 50cc at 14
Yamaha RD 200 at 16
Yamaha RD 350 at 17
Honda CB 750 F at 18
Honda V45 Sabre at 24
BMW K100RS at 27
BMW R100GS at 34
BMW K1200RS at 53

Finding the proper code for BMW bikes may be an confusing process.

Personally I start my search at
The bike in question, the K1200RS 'Taxi' entered the marked 1997.
By looking up the correct model, '51 Body Equipment/ 5120 Painted parts' reveals 'PAINTED PARTS 725 DAKARGELB/ARKTISGRAU.
The paint scheme code is 725.

Lookup Glasurit page:Glasurit Color-Online and enter CODE: 725 and MANUFACTURER: BMW. Throw in MODEL: Motorcycle for good measure.( works without)
Now you get all the color within this code.
Mark Bayerisch... and you see 269 + 120 + 121 + 337

Fiddling about with 'Start Search' and 'Next' button, a new window pops up.
This window reveals the details.
In the case of the 'Taxi' 120 and 121 are two tones of black, most likely used on the frame (BMW have used 121 Matt black on many of their '90 s bikes).

Further: 337 is the Yellow color, and 269 is the grey color for the 'Taxi'

Puhh, now I want a beer
