If you are 'of age', AARP's deal with Formost is pretty good. I think that part of my insurance is around $150/yr with unlimited miles for the RS, something like $1200/yr for the S with full $300K/$100K, a presumed 4,000 mile cap, no tickets in 5+ years, etc. I could have a S1000RR, GSXR1000, R1 and still pay the same High Performance Bike price. Mileage allowances increase in 5,000 mile increments for $300, or that is how 'they all' did it two years ago when I did a LOT of research, and the RS made little or no difference in the coverage price. Insurance is such a location dependant thing....highly litigious states with lots of bikes seem to have higher rates and vice versa. When I lived in CO many years ago, motorcycle insurance generally presumed 6 months of storage but allowed 'sunny day' riding on occasion. Here, we theoretically can ride all year so we pay more to spread out our mileage year round instead of packing it into 6months.....

I had been with geico for 10 years and was amazed to have Allstate save me another 25% on my 4 bikes. I shopped AARP, Dairyland and several others. Hands down winner, Allstate. All 4 bikes for the price quoted above for one bike....

I have had Farmers, Foremost, Dairyland, and Progressive over the years and have gone back to Progressive. They are competitive, and take good care of you. After the issues I had with Dairyland and Foremost, I have to say you get what you pay for. I have my K1200GT and a my R65 and it is a bit over $500.

They may not be the cheapest, but State Farm has had our business (car, bike, house) for 30+ years and never let us down. When I call the agent, the people know us and know our business. Two thumbs up

Not all who wander are lost. Which still leaves room for more than a few lost wanderers...

BMWMOA offers a great discount through Markel. My K1200s costs me $300/YR for excellent coverage.

I have full coverage with Nationwide on both of my bikes 2001 K1200RS and a 2005 Yamaha Midnight Silverado and the total for 1 year is just over $400.

But I have been with them for 25 years and have 4 cars and 2 bikes and my house insured with them.

Good Luck.
