Talking Newbie

Hello

My names Mark I live in Surrey England and I have just bought a 99 K1200RS. The bike has done 28000 miles. I also have a ZX9R but after riding the K1200 home (about 130 miles) I think the zx9r may be going sooner than I planned! I bought the K1200 so that I can take my wife on the back, first ride out tomorrow, I think she will like it. I expect I will be asking lots of questions about the bike over the coming days.
Best Regards
Mark

Welcome to the asylum...I've been here since 2005 and can say that it is a good place to do research and meet friends.

Welcome to the fun!

BTW, before you go anywhere, check the two fuel line quick disconnects. If they're not metal QD's, replace the original plastic QD's with metal QD's! QD failure is a good way to see your bike go up in smoke. Honest.

Not all who wander are lost. Which still leaves room for more than a few lost wanderers...

And another welcome to the fun particularly for those of us on this side of the pond!

Definitely agree about the quick disconnects. Very happy to get you the reference numbers & supplier in the UK if you need it.

My blue RS is pretty young compared to yours (2001) but has 65K miles and is going like the proverbial train!

They are fantastic bits of machinery and the knowledge of the members is staggering.

Enjoy yourself.

Ride safely.

Andy.
