BACK OFF rear brake light

Hello notice that the po had a back off rear brake flasher I found underneath the seat notice it has 2 wires coming out of it does any one have this unit and where does the wires go to thanks for any help thanks its on a 98 1200 rs

Well stick a small grounded LED light in it and see !!

Um, better to use a trouble light than an LED - unless you have a current limiting resistor in there. Otherwise, bye-bye LED.

To the PO, are there any markings to identify who made the flasher? Also, these things generally work much better with an LED tail light assembly then an incandescent bulb (the filament sort of "smooths over" the flashing to some extent).

Not all who wander are lost. Which still leaves room for more than a few lost wanderers...

12 volt LED

you don't have a thing to lose useing a cheep 12 volt led for a test of current on a 121 volt system even hooking it up backwards ( and it won't light up ) has not been a problem for me , of course yoy need to be care-full not to electrocute your-self on that 12v dc .

It's just a box it says back off in top of it and has 2 wires coming out of it

Is this what you have?

If so, the red wire goes to the lead coming from the brake switch(es) and the white wire goes to the brake light.

Not all who wander are lost. Which still leaves room for more than a few lost wanderers...
