99 K12rs

Thanks for reading...

An opportunity has been presented on a 1999 K12RS checkerboard in really nice shape.

Has this era of K bike been known for any sort of issues?

Thanks in advance!

All bikes including K-bikes have issues and it can be the luck of the draw. Later models introduced more complexity and different potential problems. The '99 has simpler ABS brakes and an ECU without a bad history. However it lacks some of the wind shielding and ergo improvements done on the later models. Other than that the K's have stayed pretty much the same.

Your question is already posted in the section specifically for the K1200RS/GT. Use the search engine on this site. The results will not tell you whether a bike is a good buy or not, but you will be better informed. If you want some peace of mind and yours is a dealer buy, consider a warranty as Beemers can be expensive if things go wrong.

Remember, a higher mileage older bike with history, looked after and regularly serviced can be a better buy than a very low mileage older bike that has not been ridden much.
