right turn directional indicator stopped working today

My turn indicators were working normally, until this afternoon. On the way back on a short 40 mile ride,...the right turn indicator stopped working. It doesn't flash on the instrument panel, and none of the bike mounted turn lamps flash either. Left turn works normally.

Unhappy Same here

Hi

The same happened to me on Saturday. I have pulled the right switch apart and cleaned it up as per this post:

http://www.k-bikes.com/forums/showth...ht=turn+switch

However when I tried to disconnect the switch from the loom I found that there wasn't a plug connection, but about 15 singular conections!
My indicator is now working well (to well) and even when I cancel it, it often comes back on

HELP

The same thing has happened to me twice in my 118,000 miles of ownership.
In both cases I just hit the switches with compressed air from my air compressor and that fixed it. Always try that first, no need to make life complicated.

Until you find one of the wires in the switch assembly has dropped off or broken away from its solder contact. - Had that happen twice on different switches. If bar risers are fitted, the handlebar wires can get pretty tight which is another problem.

Compressed air doesn't fix the re-soldering or splice lengthening, but it does stir up the rubbish inside the switch and move it on to somewhere else!
