Greetings

Hi folks... been a long-time LT owner (and member on bmwlt.com), and just in the process of acquiring a very neat K1200GT (2004/05) with low k's so that I can spend some lazy service time on the LT and still get to work and back without resorting to bloody public transport.

Very different beast to the LT from test ride, but then the tyres are pretty much shot with huge flat spots, so I'm certain new shoes will give it a whole new lease on life.
It's been meticulously maintained so hopefully have a keeper... now I just have to keep clearing the garage so I can fit both of them in.

Expecting the crew here to be as forthcoming and brilliant as on the LT site, I've seen some familiar names so looking forward to learning all about the new baby.

cheers

Welcome to the fun. I think you'll enjoy the ride.

BTW, too bad fall is coming on in Oz - or can you ride year round?

Not all who wander are lost. Which still leaves room for more than a few lost wanderers...

the only "fall" we have is when they drop sand on the round-a-bouts BTDT.

Its year round here, unless you live up in snow country, and that's only for a couple of months you'd be off 2 wheels.
So no putting bikes down for the winter and being able to service them, need year round wheels, so hence buying the GT.
Pick it up this Saturday, so looking forward to a new learning experience and more loss of cash.

thx for the welcome Richard.
