04/05 GT bar risers--- are these stock?

Have posted in another forum but no answer yet, so I'll ask here too.. :-)

I recently bought some RCU bar risers for the K12GT (supposed to just bolt on) but they don't seem to want to fit on top of the existing risers.. now I'm wondering if the risers that came with the bike when I bought it (3rd owner but low kms) might already be aftermarket, rather than part of the stock configuration? The ones on the bike are slightly bigger than the RCU ones I bought... see pics for current "stock" state with the handlebar and brake reservoir removed...Can anyone tell me if these risers in the pics are standard issue GT for an 04 build bike?

Those in your photos are after market.

Mine most certainly are original to the bike - they give a rise of 15mm.

I have a 04 GT and they do not come stock with bar risers. I have a set that I never put on, because I am 2 lazy to reroute the throttle cable. Bar risers will stretch the cable in the stock position at full turn of the handle bars. You need to reroute the cable or get a longer cable.

Thanks for feedback guys. Previous owner bought the bike with only 2k on it, and told me he hadn't changed it from stock.... I never even questioned whether they were OEM parts or not.
The RCU risers I bought from A&S are supposed to fit with the stock brake cable, which is why I purchased them.
Guess they'll either have to go back or try to sell to someone else...

Anyone wants some new RCU risers ???

Barbacks

They look exactly like my Barbacks which I purchased from Pirate Supply. WIthout them( the half smooth-half serrated piece) you probably would'nt be typing because your wrists would be too sore!

No matter what risers you use you need to reroute the cable to allow enough room for full lock to lock handle bar turn. The standard cable will work, if you do this.

They are very similar to the barbacks from Pirates (American Machine Barbacks) but not exactly the same.... I think they probably give the same setback and rise.

Maybe they were BMW installed for the original owner, who apparently had too many toys and only put 2000km on this bike in 4-5 years ownership. No problem getting full right lock.
Anyway, key thing is I can't get any more upright with them without spending a shitload of money for something like those electronic ones from Germany... nahh... don't have that much play dough
