Thought I would share this with you. OEM stock KRS seat is hard as nails and back breaking yes?
I had my seat recovered several years ago with MediGel inserts put in the foam which was a big comfort improvement.
Now I have come across this Gel cover. Rang up a local horse kit supplier saying I had 135 horses and went over to try one.
They are used under horse saddles to give the rider and horse more comfort.
The 2 photos show it on my KRS stock saddle. The gel is about 10mm thick uncompressed, so won't affect seat height that much. However they do another version which is about 20mm thick. Since I already have gel pad 'implants' I bought the thinner product.
It conforms reasonably well to the seat shape at the sides, but obviously could be a better size and longer, but it is fine for a solo rider. It is incredibly 'grippy' full of holes and does not slip. If you like a slippery seat then don't buy one. Riding the bike is like being magnetized to the seat - but for long distance cruise it is bliss on the rear and back.
There is a theft risk, but it is easily rolled up and stored in a top box or back pack. Normally these would have a saddle covering over them so I don't know yet how it will wear as I am using it. There are Ebay sellers (search acavallo). Mine is the larger horse size (not pony).
