Back in the K bike market

Hey folks, Been a while since I've posted. Sold my 2003 K12RS a couple of years ago and have been banging around in my Buell. Missed the K bike too much , so I am sniffing around for some candidates. I actually took a couple of K12S's out to bang around and , call me crazy, I really do prefer the RS . I personally think they are some of the most beautiful bikes ever made. Anyway , I have a couple of low mileage early years (98-01) in my sights. I knew of the quirks with my 2nd generation bike ( Servo, QD's , proper FD servicing , etc.) anything I should pay particular attention to with the 1st gen models ?

Thanks in advance and I cant wait to get back in the saddle.

K12 Rs

I would get a year that has Cruse Control. I have 2000 and it's perfect but for that.
My opinion.

1st Gen has a noticeably different riding position than the 03
I don't use the cruise control much but when I do it sure is nice
ask if the final drive was done, think about the GT or adding some GT elements depending on your weather
no heated seat, no deal
having just gone through the cost, ask if Seller flushed the ABS at all or not, not a nice price tag item

I think they had some starter relay issues...... I have a beautiful black '02 you may talk me out of.
