Throttle adjust /that/ simple?

I have a problem at the "almost closed" end of the throttle - it becomes "on/off" which makes the bike herky jerky when doing parking lot and u-turn maneuvers - not good. Anyway, starring at Clymers, it looks as though all I need to do is tweak the adjusters at the throttle housing on the handle bar. Can it really be that simple? I was expecting to have to get to the throttle body area.

The adjusters at the twist grip end increase or decrease the amount of free play in the cable. Too tight and the action might be as you describe. I like it with just a couple of millimeters free play you can feel in the grip.

Not that simple if an update to the much better Teflon lined throttle cables is required.Expensive cables and real pain to install.Dealer update? Got to be at least an hour to install if not 2-3.DIY? Youl'll be in there for a while.....!

It's not the adjusters... sigh... Play's good, no trouble swinging the bars. Sigh..

Have you tried a "re set"? could be a bad TPS.

I have but I'll try it again - as soon as the temps here move away from 100F.

Well, hot damn! (as it were), after a couple of tries, the TPS reset and all is right with the world. Except it's still stink hot and humid. But the throttle travel is a smooth as butter in the sun.

Well, damn - worked once and not since. The drill is key on with left hand while hold grip right hand, roll to WOT stop and back three times. No change at all.

Um... not to be unkind but one buys what's in the pumps or one stays near home and the fuel drum or "bespoke" filling station.

E10 in the tank.
