Does anyone have this installed on their bike? I just got mine tonight and need to know where I can get some THREAD LOCKING COMPOUND.

I thought this shelf would be a good idea for my GPS, intercom, IPASS, MP3 player....

but now I am not sure after reading how to install it. What happens if I loosen the clamps that hold the handlebars to the fork tubes? is this a good idea? What should I tork the bolts back to?

Help

According to Locktite brand:

Blue is light duty........best for most fasteners.
Red is medium duty for bearings and stud mounting.
Green is the strongest and not need in most cases.

Red and green require heat to remove without damaging fastener.

Blue will work for 99% of the applications. Make sure the threads are oil free prior to application. None of the Locktite compounds penetrate the fastener after they have been assembled. The compound must be applied to the threads prior to assembly.
