Ram Mount/ Phone mount

I recently bought a 1999 K1200RS. Couldn't love this bike more. But I don't see an easy way to mount my RAM mount to it. What is the best way to mount a cell phone to this bike. In the past I have always used the U bolt type RAM mount. Thanks in advance.

While there are undoubtedly several ways that have been used over the years, I have a RAM mount that bolts to the clutch cover housing. I use it to hold my Garmin, but with all the RAM mounts, it could hold almost anything. The mount comes with 4 longer screws and spacers for the clutch (or brake) cover. I like it because it keeps the GPS off to one side so I can see the gages. It has been very secure, with no leaks or problems at all in approx. 10,000 miles I've used it (and that includes some very bumpy roads along the way.)

+1 - the RAM clutch mount is The Answer.

Not all who wander are lost. Which still leaves room for more than a few lost wanderers...

Ram mount definitely the way to go, but I did it differently. Mine is mounted to the fairing. Pictures below prettty much explain it all. Longer 50mm m5 with some star washers to keep it from spinning. Short 1 inch extension arm. The real secret sauce is not actually ram mount, but a short male to diamond techmount adapter between the arm and the phone holder. I have a similar setup in my car.. again, hopefully the pictures tell the story..

The whole setup does not move or shake. Phone rock solid. Partially obscures the very top of my gas gauge, but I pretty much rely on the trip meter anyway..
