Re:Cam Cover Oil Leak.

I have an "04" K12RS and it really is in great shape and looks good, but I can't seem to find a reason for the oil "weeping" out the front of the cam cover, is there a way to fix this, like replacing the gasket? I could use a part number as I can't seem to find that part anywhere? It only has just over 20,000 miles on it so it shouldn't be leaking at all in my opinion? :-)

No gasket there.Just the crappy failed BMW sealer.Well talked about that leak over the years.

Clymer for the details/how to etc....?

And some good sealer such as Loctite 518?

It's a "known issue" on the K bike engines. Bit of a design flaw, from what I've read. Getting everything out of the way and removing the cover is not a small job, but not insurmountable for the home mechanic. Plenty of info on various BMW web sites on various fixes, and how long they lasted. I've had good luck with Yamabond and Three Bond 1207B Gasket maker over the years, but don't be surprised if the leak comes back in a few thousand miles.
