Help, High Idle and low speed surges.

Howdy Folks,

Looking for some help. I have a 2002 K12RS, the bike has 86k engine was recently replaced with one that had 43k. Engine replacement was due to camshaft bearing failure. Though may problems started prior to the engine replacement. The bike shortly after start up will idle at 1500-1800rpm, which is 500-800 more than it should be. Also at maintenance throttle it seems to drop off and surge back up, this is more noticeably at low speeds.
Last week had the local shop run a tests which came up with no faults.
Major parts replaced:
Engine
Throttle position control sensor
Throttle actuator
Temp sensor
Also what other parts with full service.

Check your battery, also check that your fuel injection rail cams are lubricated. Blow compressed air compressed air underneath that section through the bike motor to make sure there’s no mouse nest material hanging them up. Also make sure that your throttle cable is routed underneath the center front faring mount & your spark plug cables.

Forgot to tell you some more things to look for and do. Look for vacuum leaks + disconnect the battery for 20 minutes then reconnect and then do the throttle positioning sensor set procedure. Turn ignition on rotate the throttle from zero to Max slowly several times and then start it.

Similar problem here:

I wanted the throttle to be a bit less stiff, so I 're-arranged' the spring pressure by moving one spring attach backwards - sure made the throttle work nicer, but danged if I didn't end up with your symptoms too. Changed it all back to stock, and now it idles like it did before some crazy farm boy decided to make it better....

Also - there is some EPA required hose gizmo that connects to all the throttle bodies - mine was cracked and obviously not doing it's full job. Changed that when I did the clutch along with all hoses and some other stuff. Not an expensive part, but it is well buried under the fuel tank area..I would have expected the fellas who replaced your engine did change that hose, but maybe not?
