Question Back brake pads rubbing.

Occurs after soft application of brakes but not after hard braking.

Diagnosis???

Remove rear pads and clean the caliper.

This is embarrassing.

The brake pads were down to bare metal.

Calipers cleaned, rust removed from the 3 pins, and new pads installed.

Test ride pending to make sure the pistons aren't periodically sticking.

The pads wore out much quicker than expected.

Rotor looks OK.
