04 K1200GT major failure

Hi Guys
I was backing my bike off my lift after yearly service which included new pads and flushing some new brake fluid thru when half way down the abs cut out and the only sign of life is the oil and battery lights. They do not go out, even after turning key off. I have to disconnect battery to shut them. Soon as I turn the key on same 2 lights come on and that's it. Everything else is dead. Any ideas would be appreciated. I forgot to not that the bike was not running when I was backing it down. Just had switch on.

Start out with the battery quality. If it is 2 or 3 years old get a new one and charge it for several hours before installation. Of course you know you have the servo ABS that can crash over the winter and cause you more head ache than you want to discuss. Your bike is old enough to be in this zone.

Mount Vernon, WA.
tire guy, I'll mount your tires.

Eh.....I even remembered that one:

https://www.k-bikes.com/forums/42-k1...ght-solid.html

Charge the battery first.Quite demanding the servos, up to 17A so bleeds/lights...offloads etc...wil take a lot of battery capacity.

Low battery voltage=heat at relays, wires, connectors etc and then that can and will precipitate a failure.

Thanks- battery is brand new this year and charged. I put the old one in just to see, but no difference. Bike is completely dead except for 2 lights that don't go out unless I disconnect battery.

Well - I'm not telling my wife about this one.
After you noting a grounding problem and reading the older post you gave me a link to. I had a really good look around the negative and found the 2and ground I had tucked under away. I think it was making ground until I moved the bike. You would think after 16 years of servicing I would remember theirs 2 ground cables. Finding it made me happier than I have felt in a while, and I thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
Keep safe
