The PO of K1200RS I bought yesterday had the seat padding shaved to half the stock width to fit his 5’ 2” height. Rather than have the seat re-padded, I’m wondering what’s the most popular aftermarket seat for this bike that would possibly more comfortable than stock? Any suggestIons? I’m thinking buying a Corbin/Sargent and selling the stock seat would be just a tad more than re- constructing the old seat.
I would stay away from Sergeant personally, weak seat pans. I’d buy a new replacement factory BMW seat . That’s what I did. Or get a custom seat made if you want to spend the money and it’s worth it to you. I’m sure there are aftermarket seats other than sergeant. I’ve never tried one and can’t advise
Seats are a very personal thing and what feels great to one rider may not to another. With that being said, I've had three Corbin seats on K bikes and have been very happy with all of them. By contrast, I had a seat made for my GS by another well known custom maker, that came highly recommended, and I hated it. The quality of workmanship was very good, it just did not fit me right. He even rebuilt it for me after I'd had it for about a year and it still didn't work for me. I don't know where you live, but if you're within a reasonable riding distance, Corbin makes ride-in appointments and will make your seat while you wait and they really try to make it fit you. So...........

Forgot to mention that I also had a new Corbin seat made for my GS which I'm pleased with. Also, three of my Corbin seats were made with ride-in appointments.
If somebody has an aftermarket seat for sale, I would love to see it, I have the stock BMW seat on my 03 K1200GT, looking to try another seat. Post them up if you have one for sale.
I usually do not reply here because normally someone has already provided the required info. However this is from decades of experience, Sargent seats are by far one of the best aftermarket seats for any K1200 or K1300 model and are much more comfortable than Corbin unless you prefer sitting on a hard log by the campfire and will withstand years of use. My K1200RS Sargent seat has over 140,000 miles and is as nice today as the day I bought it new. Also, you can send your original seat to BMS-Bill Mayer Seats or Russell Daylong Seats and they will return you just as nice a seat on your original pan. None of these options will you ever regret. :grin
FWIW, I ride an '03 GT, and stock seat was not comfortable at all for me. I have had Corbin in the past and found it too hard. I have a Russell with 140000 or so miles on it and have been very comfortable. As others have noted, comfort is pretty subjective.
I have a 2003 K1200RS in the same paint color as yours. I have only put a couple thousand miles on it since purchasing last fall. The Sargent seat is an adjustable version which provides a slightly higher than stock height. In the upper position, which is a bit tricky to lock in, the ride height is about an inch and a half higher. I am 6'2" tall and I also have the pegs lowered slightly. The seat is comfortable and the previous (original) owner has ridden all 12,000 miles on it before me. I have the stock seat in brand new condition if you might be interested in original equipment. I also have a Sargent on my F800ST and find that ride to be comfortable as well. My recent riding experience is nowhere near the impressive miles reported by other enthusiasts on this site, but my first few thousand since last summer's re-entry after a thirty year 'pause' has been comfortable and exclusively Sargent, much of which is two up.
