Another New (to me) 2003 GT

Just sold my V-Strom 1000 and picked up a 2003 K1200GT with only 3200 miles!
Have 2 BMW cars and have always been a fan of them, excited about the new bike...

How do you guys like the stock heated seat? Comfy for long miles?
I've always had Corbins or Sargeant seats because my stockers were terrible. (2 VFR's & the Strom)
Just wondering what I am going to have to spend money on with this bike aftermarket-wise.
Already have a good head start with a Z-Technik chip and 2Bros titanium pipe...

Congrats on your new bike. Looks good except that no matter what others say you got the second fastest color. Red of course being the slowest. You never heard any one say "green by you" or "red by you" when referring to going fast. It's "BLUE by you"! As far as your question about the seat I can only give you my opinion (which I think others share) and tell you it sucks. The heat aspect of it is great. I can just about fry an egg on that thing when it's on high, but it's a pain in the ass literally on long rides. I MUST wear bicycle shorts when I go for long rides (200+ miles) or I'll pay for it for the next two days. I'm going to get a Sargent seat sometime in the near future although that will mean giving up the heat. I'll keep the stock seat and use it on those really cold days as I don't usually go long distance when it's really cold.

All the GT colors are nice IMHO - Fastest? I'll try to do my part to protect the honor of the Greenies out there. That reminds me, must Get the Valentine 1 hard wired...

I was on Sargent's site yesterday and they make a heated seat for the GT. Pricey at approx $650, depending on options... Was hoping the stocker would not suck, but they always do, no matter what bike I've ever been on.

Congrats! That's a beauty (even if it's not blue...I almost got that color and like it a lot). Welcome to K-land. I may be an exception, but I LIKE the stock seat. It took me awhile to get used to it (and the riding position...check the forums...) but I feel it works well and the heat is a wonder. Never thought I would care about heated grips, seat, and cruise control, but now wonder how I lived without them. Enjoy!

I know I am going to be spoiled by the heated grips, seat and cruise!!!
I have done 70,000 miles total on 2 VFR's & V-Strom with no niceties like the BMW's have... I bet I will never turn back now
