Thumbs up Buying a New to Me K1200RS

Hi, I'm in the market for a used K1200RS and would love to know if anyone knows where I can find a list of the manufactures upgrades that have been done over the years. I would hate to buy a bike and then find that the next model year there were significant improvements made.
Thanks

I posted this before but the heading read GT, when I meant RS

You're gonna love it....

Welcome!

The big changes come 2002 and later. Integrated ABS front and rear, and a slightly different fairing look. Other than that, all the years are GREAT.

There were no bad years.

Search the archives here. Go to Gunsmokes site for older stuff, Pirates Lair for a lot of "How To" info.

Read, Read, shop, Read, ask questions, Read, Read, Shop, ask more questions, Read, Read... then buy, Ride, squeal with joy, etc. (YMMV)

I love my 2002.

I like to call it "half integrated", being as how it's not reciprocated at the foot brake....

It's a matter of taste......some folks upgrades and improvements are the bane of other folks.......

The linked or semi-linked brakes are a point of reference. Personally, the ABS system without linked brakes is by far my personal choice. Easier to maintain, more personal control and not as mindless. But others would much prefer that system.

The other issue is that BMW has made some of the car and motorcycle products into beautiful examples of technology that often is not user or technician friendly, but it is the latest and greatest.

For those reasons, I landed a 2000 K1200RS just two weeks ago. Best catch of the day that I've made, IMO. You can't read too much nor look at too many bikes, do some diligence and let us know what you decide, then ride your bike and enjoy.........

Thanks all for the great advice!!
So, what year do the linked brakes start? I think that I would agree with Infedel: Yes on ABS possibly no on linking.

My '01 has ABS, but does NOT have linked brakes. I think '02 is the first year for linked brakes. See this thread:
