Power for Valentine-1

Fellow Riders:

I am going to tap into a switched circuit for my Valentine-1. If anyone has done this, which one works best, and where did you tap it?

Thanks,

Bob

I tapped into the rear tail lights and ran the wire up to the front. That way the fuse is under the seat and you don't have to screw around inside the instrament area.
I ran the wire under the gas tank, over the rightside air duct and up through the fairing next to the tach.
I also made a little shelf like the one Pirate sells and the wire is right where I need it behind the windscreen.

I just spliced into the front parking lamp. Pretty much the same as the tail lamp, and better than using the headlamp wire, because the headlamp comes on with the key in the on position, goes off when the start button is pressed, then comes back on again. Not sure what the V1's start-up sequence is, but on the Escort, using the headlamp feed starts the display and chirping noises, then stops, then starts it again...

Itapped into the front parking light circuit. Works well and does not hinder more high demand circuits.

Thank you for your responses fellows. I tapped the front parking lamp. Like you said it was slick!

Is there no GPS hookup next to the battery like on my K12R? Under the battery cover on the R there's a connection with pos, neg, and speed feed which comes on with the key, and goes off about 30sec after the key is switched off. I just hooked into it today for my radar detector, and it worked great!
