Oil filler neck?

My new-to-me '03 K12RS's tool kit is missing the oil filler neck (or never had it?). Does this part really have a unique magical shape that warrants it's $12 cost (according to online fiche), or is there something else (funnel etc) that has the necessary bend, works well, and costs less?

It's made out of rubber (very similar in appearance to a bicycle innertube), not oversized, and such can stow under the seat. That is all.

You can buy any kind of angled funnel at an auto store for well under $5.00 for garage use.

Auto Zone sells paper funnels for one-time on-the-road use @ 3/$1.95. I've had a pack stowed on the bike for 2 years and haven't used one yet!
