Woot Woot!!! Just traded my '02 RS for a '04 GT :D

Have to share this with you all...

Went for a ride with the girlfriend today. Rode hwy 9 over to Santa Cruz and headed down 1 towards Monterey...

We were going to check out some tide pools and walk on some beaches.

Since I've never seen a Ural in person I wanted to stop by Watsonville (BMW of Santa Cruz) on the way down and take a look. We never made it to Monterey.

I was walking by the used bikes and spotted a green GT that looked super clean. Upon further inspection it was an '04 with only 1230 or so miles on it! It has a nice Givi top case and PIAA lights.

I took it for a ride and fell in love. It is true that the suspension on these bikes is worn out at 25k miles. The difference in ride quality was amazing. It also shifts smooth as butter compared to my old bike. The motor runs smoother as well. Quite a nice ride. My girlfriend even prefers the ride on the GT. I didn't expect her to notice.

Acceleration seems soft compared to the RS, but I had a Remus on the old bike. I rode another stock RS and it felt the same as the GT. My RS was spirited when it wanted to run.

Overall I can't be happier. I have a near brand new example of what I feel is the best of the breed. The new GT's just don't do anything for me.

I'm sitting here in amazement. I can't believe I got a new (to me) GT!!! I can't wait to pile on the miles. This is the bike I should have purchased in the first place. I'm glad the planets aligned for me today.

You forget that I have 186MPH on an Orient Blue confirmed with GPS that no SeaMistGreen has been able to attain.

You, sir, are mistaken.......

Congrats on the new GT, I've thought about trading mine in on a low-mileage example just to upgrade to a new bike for relatively few $$$. Although this bike and I have had some mighty fun adventures, so it would be hard to part with it. It has 61k, and still has the original shocks, although they will be replaced with Ohlins this week or next.

Razel goes to a track day, and now he has delusions of speed while riding his slow blue bike. It is sad to see such a bright and sharp mind reduced to this state, what a shame

My GPS recorded 500+ MPH while riding on my Gray-Green Metallic GT, thereby proving factually that Gray-Green is the fastest. The ///M stripes add another 20MPH.

Sierra Cement: Good for skis, bad for knees.

Sure. 500 MPH. You got pictures? Proof? I know I do, and I showed it to you two+ years ago...
Oh, and flying it in the cargo section to the other coast doesn't count...

Oh, I remember you showing me your proof.

The 500 MPH I recorded was done while riding the Gray-Green Metallic GT on regular roads, in one of the canyons of Colorado. I didn't take pictures, nor do I have any other proof, as I didn't want to brag about it and make other riders feel inferior or like girly-men because they ride on a bike of slower color.

I also noticed that, in addition to having Gray-Green Metallic paint, having intermittent GPS satellite reception makes you go really, really, really fast.

Right on guys, thanks...

But I always thought the Black RS's were the fastest?

J/K.

Gotta get a GPS so I can verify speed on my GT. I'm sure it's good for at least 250-ish (kms?)
