The stated top speed in the RS manual is 150 (I haven't worked up the nerve to find out). GT would be similar?

Its Fast!

142 on my 2006 GT and there was plenty of speed left. I have seen posts with photographs of GPS readings at 154. May have seen one as high as 157.

Speedo on these bikes (RS/GT) are typically about 5% optimistic. My GPS has recorded 141MPH(Professional rider on closed course. Do not attempt. You mileage may vary), but that was with both bags and a tail-bag loaded, not sure of the altitude, but it was in the four-corners area of CO, NM, UT, AZ.

(I've also seen the GPS record 500+ MPH, that was after I had the ///M stripes painted and programmed in the color of the bike - the GPS knows that Gray-Green Metallic is the fastest).

Sierra Cement: Good for skis, bad for knees.

Wink

I had my K12RS show 150 on the speedo with 146 on the GPS. I did this going across the salt flats on I-80, no bags and my 6'4" frame partially in the wind.

The green and red ones top out about 150 MPH while the blue ones are about 160 MPH .

Visual proof of speedo error: 130 GPS indicated (left number on GPS screen at bottom of photo), 138 speedo-indicated.

One very stable bike to be able to take this shot:

Edit: (Professional rider on closed course. Do not attempt. Your ressults may vary).

I think the speed on the GT-2 speedometer is a little more accurate. My RT was maybe 10% off.
