Soft Bag options for K1200GT

The panniers are great but I want to take a soft bag and fix it horizontally across the pillion seat; light stiff really sleeping bag, pillow etc. I can use a regular "kit bag" but I want it to be secured properly and not just a few elasticated "bungee" hooks !

I don't want to pay for BMW "fancy" kit; but something that is meant for the job.

What do you guys recommend please?

I'm getting a Wolfman Beta Tail Bag from Wolfmanluggage.com. I like the looks and layout of the bag and the way it contours the seat. Should have it in a couple of days, I'll let you know how I like it.

Well, I have the BMW mounting plate for the BMW tailbag, but instead I got a Chicane "Dune" bag for a lot less than the BMW bag was selling for ($99.00). This one also straps to the rear seat, but I've not attached it that way, so I can't comment. It does have two straps to secure it to the seat.

Hello Rob707 is this what you mean Expedition Rear Bags ? They seem very pricey, but worth it if they are high quality and totally water proof.

Please let us know.

John

Also check out the Chicane soft saddlebags. I don't have the soft cases, but I've seen them, and they look very good. I can vouch for the tank bags, duffle bag, and seat bags.

The owner rides a K-1200RS, and these products fit the RS / GT like the proverbial glove.

Not affiliated, just a happy customer.

Have you checked out the T-Bags on Pirate's site. I took one for a two week trek to Florida and it worked great. It can mount on the pillon or swing it around on the 'luggage' rack if you are 2-up.
