Zumo Mount

Hi All,
Quick question - if I want to mount my Zumo in the centre of my bike between the handlebars (below the idiot lights) like most people seem to do can I use the mount that comes with the Zumo or do I need to buy an alternative mounting system?
Many thanks
James

James,

Do a search of this forum for zumo mount. There are several examples.

Garmin Zumo

http://www.gadgetguy.net/

This came with my bike when I bought it. I haven't done the research as to the specific parts it included, but when I sent a pic to the "Gadget Guy" he confirmed that it would work with the Zumo mount provided with the GPS. As opposed to the above, mounted between the windscreen posts, this mounts below between the handlebars.

I like GadgetGut.net mounts.

Originally I had my GPS mounted between the bars. I had to have an additional piece from GadgetGuy.net so the GPS would not obstruct my view of the idiot lights including the turn signals. With the GPS between the bars, I had to look down and away from the instruments and road to read it.

With the GPS mounted by the windshield, it is easier to read and see where I'm going at the same time.

For those interested in the K-GT windshield mount - http://gpsforless.stores.yahoo.net/unbrackitii.html part # ABK02150-0000

You can use a base plate from GadgetGuy.net or a Touratech. Touratech makes a nice base plate with a key lock for approx $179.50 http://www.touratech-usa.com/shop/sh...BDECAA5DCA0DD0

The clamps on the back of the mount attach the mount to the round bar of the GadgetGuy.net.

You can also just get the standard BMW GPS mount and attach your Zumo to that. It's about $50 for the part... This is the method I used and it works great!

I got a mount from gadget guy. works great and I am very happy with it. I do not need to tilt my head to see it. just glance down like looking at the instuments.

Go to the Zumo forum and look for my thread on mounting the zumo and autocom to a 04 K1200gt for pic's.
