After 3200 miles of glorious riding, my 2006GT (built April 06) turned into a not nice machine.
As I was decelerating from a good half hour at 30 to 85 on the highway, onto local roads, I closed the throttle, and I was pitched forward as the bike went into a hard engine braking mode. After that, I had so much trouble keeping steady speeds in the lower gear ranges. The bike kept twitching into acceleration and hard engine deceleration. This is similar to the BBS I experienced when the bike was new. At the 600 service, I was upgrade d by fthe dealer forcing 7.1 into the bike, and it became a great machine until yesterday.
And when I stopped for 2 hours and resumed my journey home, I started getting the high idle syndrome. It took a lot of rapid throttle twitching to knock it down and then it would resume as I slowed down. I pulled into my driveway using the clutch to control my speed.
So, what to do now?? I am off on a 2 week trip to The middle East.
When I get back, I have to address the problem. I will speak to my dealer, Manhattan BMW, which is owned by BMWNA. Hopefully, they can resolve this.
Of course, when I take it to the dealer, it will behave as if nothing happened. This dealer goes by the book. I don't know what their expereinces are in this matter. They put no credence in anybody's opinion except theirs. I had to beg them at the 600 service to force the 7.1 into the bike, as I had previously complained about BBS. The say, that the internet forums are a lot of BS from disgruntled users. I think these forums are the best ever and the most information to be had is only posted here.
I will let you know what happens.
Maybe I need a new ECU ,
I will go to the mat to get a proper functioning bike.
