Question Any Baehr intercom users here -

advice needed?
I failed to select a channel in CAPO 3 on my wife's F800ST'07 wich I installed myself past week-end. The red LED next to PTT button is shining but there is NO channel indication and pushing the lever gives nothing. Also VERSO XL on my KGT(installed by BAEHR technician past July in Garmisch/Germany) works fine in intercom mode(rider-to-passenger) but it's impossible to change the channel - it's stuck to channel 7. The lever does not react.
So there is no radio connection between the two bikes at the satrt of the season.
Any suggestions/ideas? There are NO Baehr dealers in Russia yet. And they do not responce to my enquiries.

Take care!

also have a versus xl, same 2 other riding buddies. there is no support at baehr, also had it installed in garmisch last year, have some mic problem, sent several e-mails- no reply. anyway, are you talking about the radio communication bike to bike? we also purchased the push-to-talk cables and the other cables needed but did not tried yet since we could not decide what radio to buy.

Yes, Doru, I mean radio bike-to-bike. I have CAPO 3U on my KGT and a CAPO 3 on F800ST. it's impossible for me to pair them as I am unable to set the channel.

BTW, looks like I saw you in Garmisch but was realy unable to contact you - we had been trapped in heavy rain in Austria three days prior(whole day and +11C) and got cold so we were exhausted completely - then I had no will to take a beer(can you imagine?). Even we discussed the possibility for my wife to fly home from Munich as she was unable to be a passenger to me - so bad she did feel( we rode my bike only due to her arm fracture last May). Then we stayed one day more in bed with a lot of hot tea and pills and recovered enough. Maybe this year we will have another chance.

Take care!

hope so. i will be there anyway. but why don't you pair the radios prior any other connection? we have a lot of rain too but also some good weather, been over timmelsjoch after garmisch. bmw all-in-one rainsuit was very good.

I could not imagine that problem - it looked so simple. Just to wire it and start the bike and then to select the same channel on the PTT block. I saw a lot of people there and on the highpasses with their devices - everybody was happy with Baehr.

Take care!

I received the reply from Baehr - that still looks simple
Will try to follow their instructions.

the first thing you should do is to make a factory reset.
1. the engine of your motorcycle is not running and CAPO 3U has no power-supply!
2. with your left hand, press the yellow PTT-switch and keep it pressed
3. with your right hand, turn on the ignition-key to "on", (don't start the engine). After a second the display is
showing a "A". Now you can leave the yellow PTT-switch
4. Push the PTT again, only one time and don't hold it!
5. an "F" is displayed.
6. push the PTT again, only one time and don't hold it!
7. "r", "E", "5", "E", "t", wich means RESET is displayed
8. a "0" is displayed
9. push the "Up-Down-switch" one time up and don't hold it!
10. a "1" is displayed
11. push the PTT again, only one time and don't hold it!
12. turn on the ignition-key to "off", and wait until the CAPO 3U has no power-supply!
now the CAPO 3U has made a factory reset and should behave like that day we produced it. This means that all volume settings (in and out) are standart, an channel "7" is programmed.

Now you can do a testride.
1. turn on the ignition-key to "on", start the engine.
2. if the engine is running, push the PTT, only one time and don't hold it!
3. after a few second's a "7" is displayed. The internal PMR-Radio is ready now!

if you now want to change the PMR-channel
1. press the "Up-Down-switch" one time up and hold it!
2. the displayed "7" starts to flash
3. now, quikly push the "Up-Down-shwitch" up or down, as often you want to get the desired channel.
4. wait
5. after a few second's the display stop's flashing an the new channel is stored inside the SGF-12-01

If you have no success with the factory setting and the unit don't behave as descibed above, then it seems to be damaged! and you better send it together with the display to us for control.

best regards
yor baehr team

Take care!

Really do not remember. You can visit their website - there is price-list avaliable there.
We are having snow now so I have no idea when I have a possibility to pair the bikes as they are kept in different places phisically. But will keep the forum informed.

Take care!

So I followed the instructions of the producer and .... nothing happened
I mean the radio did not work. Left it overnight as the next morning we started a short week-end ride to a biker's fest in Belorussia 600 miles from home where I 'd prefer to have it operating. But the next morning when my better half fired the bike up - the radio switched on and worked fine next 2 days. Then on the way back after the second gas-stop it refused to start again. I tried to reset it but failed. Got a notice from the factory that the system seemed be defective and would be better to post it to them for examination/testing.
This is really a pity as it prooved to be very useful.

Take care!

Sounds very frustrating but at the very least, it sounds as if you will be able to get the factory to help determine if it is defective. Unfortunate, especially considering the price of Baehr equipment, but I guess it is luck of the draw when you have one of the few "lemons" out of the production line.
