ESA - how does it work (tech)

Hi.. in some cars, the shock absorbers with adjustable pressure use iron in the oil, with a magnet who enables different pressure. Is it so with the BMW ESA, or do they use Air-pressure?! Does anybody know?!

Mods done: Power frk, stepper motor, sloppy shifter, Laser duo slip on, sports air filter, Zumo mount, decor stripes
