Tech Daze in SF Bay area?

Gentlemen, (there seem to be no ladies on GTs here, unless you count Hazard)

I am having a bunch of my riding friends (mostly RTs, gasp) over for what we call a "Tech Day" on August 16th and 17th.

What is a Tech Day? Well, I'm glad you asked!!! Basically, what happens is several people, nOObs and vetrans, all converge on my place and sit around all day doing maintenance on their bikes and telling lies about how fast or far we went.

We've got quite a bit of floor or yard (for tents) space for anyone riding a ways, or who might want to stick around for the Sat. night liquid refreshments. (If you do, we will steal your keys for the evening, but gladly give them back in the morning.) We even have a real bar and a well lit horse shoe pit for your entertainment.

We can't do valves on the GT yet, but I'd be happy to help with other maintenance or farkling if anyone has a project.

It really is a great time and if there are several folks who don't need to do anything to their bikes, there are several great roads nearby for a short day ride. I'm only 20 minutes from the Napa Valley (busy) or Lake Berryessa (fantastic roads, some chance of squids.)

Lunch will be provided, and a lot of great folks are coming.

Please PM me for address and phone # if you are interested. I'll need a firm headcount by August 9th or so.

The planning thread is here, on the BMW Sport Touring board, as this is where most of the folks I've had the pleasure of riding with are.

I hope some folks can make it!!! I'd love to be able to put a face to some names around here, as I haven't been able to meet hardly any of Y'all yet.

Google maps has me at 2,463 miles. Don't think I'll make it this time, sounds like fun though! I was out your way for work last month (Concord), probably flew right over your house (did Concord to Napa, a 5 minute flight).

Sounds like a good time, report back to us, pics too! I'm sure there will be some good maintainance and farkling to document so the rest of us can learn something.

This was a great event.

Lots of nice people, very gracious host. At one time up to 30 bikes lined up. Lots of work.

Suspension clinics, Brake work, FD oil flush, RT throttle balancing..... Shock swaps...

Good food, and drink..

Very Kewl Richard, wish I could have made it, I always have lots of questions, heh heh.

Looks like Bullets front end was worked on.

Nice slide show, I have ridden with several of them, which is also very cool!

Oh, and at least one of those gals, actually works on her bike herself.

OK,

Just so Y'all can see what you missed: Link to the story is here

If you had the weekend off and live less than 1500 miles away, you missed a great time. (I wish I had something to do with it, but it was all the folks and my SO (significant other) who made it so great)

A few pics:

The party Sat. night: (note Hazard towering over everyone)

Sharon changing her own tires: And yes, there were several women that do all their own work...

Hazard: (towering, errrr I mean standing)

I've never felt so small: (note Hazard towering, AGAIN) Several tall guys there:

Lots of bikes (note that BMW shine:
