According to my kids, El Bulli is reputed to be the best restaurant in the world. Good luck getting reservations. Perhaps there will be a cancellation.

According to Google Earth, they are in the northeast corner of Spain.

I lived in Montpellier for a few years and did some riding around the Pyrenees, some friends had a cabin in Err (France) and so I did the road from there to Perpignan several times, I remember that being nice. I don't actually remember there being a whole lot of roads to choose from. I bought a TV in Andora and remember there being pretty much only one road there, but it was sure a nice one especially up by the ski areas. I also remember enjoying the drive down to Banyuls sur Mer, right along the coast.

Sorry, no memories for particular places to stay. I mostly winged it. One of the nicer things about riding around that area is the abundance of decent cafes and restaurants. But on the other hand most of the hotels I ended up in were... rustic.

Head for the Picos de Europa mountains. Stay at the paradore at Fuente De or at Cangas de Onis, and ride the roads around there, especially down through to Riano and the reservoir. The scenary is stunning and the roads are simply amazing for bikes. Long, sweeping curves with good visibility, smooth surfaces and very little traffic.

Highly recommended, if you're passing anywhere near there.

I agree, Picos area is very nice and well worth a few days. The N240 east of Yesa is a nice road if you're in the area. Never been bored in the Pyrenees. enjoy it. and yes, Paradores are excellent... if you have the cash!

They can get expensive. However, in our experience well worth it!
