2008 recalls

Took my bike to the dealer for the 10,000km/6,000 miles inspection. It is a 2008. Any recalls for the 2008 model? It does make that noise when clutch is released and bike is loaded with passenger and luggage. Anybody knows the part no. that supposed to be changed to cure that noise? Pls. check here-

I only see two recalls here.

The second one looks really bad. Some setscrew within the engine affecting oil flow could cause the engine to throw a rod or explode.

Other one is too short of brake caliper bolts causing the calipers to fall off.

Other than those, nothing else shown to worry about.

I see it says about 30 bikes affected by the oil line recall - anyone have the VINs affected?

39 actually, and those 39 may be in the U.S. since it's a NHTSA memo. Nothing said about the European bikes.

"Dealers will install a set screw in the oil duct. The recall is expected to begin during June 2008. Owners may contact BMW at 1-800-331-1117."

Might want to call that number before cratering the engine. Someone must have done a job on one somewhere.

Called that 800 number, it's bunk, doesn't work.

From their website, that number should work between 9AM and 9PM EST.

Maybe BMW NA stands for "Not Available" - or perhaps they've outsourced CS to India too?

"Hey, I don't make mistakes!"

I copied from the site with the recall notices. "They" typoed it wrong!
