The Bridgestone front scallops badly. I'd stay away from it unless it's the only option.

Why not one of the dual compound tires? I have close to 10,000 miles on a set of P2's and if I didn't have a new set in my moto closet waiting to be put on, I'd buy the new RoadSmart.

PR2's

Dual compounds dude. The only tire I'll ever put on the bike again unless some one comes out with a longer lived dual. To me they handle just as well as either you mentioned and they give me about 50% more life. Worth the extra $$ indeed.

OK dual compound. Which one exactly? Know any store in EU that ships abroad?
Is this the roadsmart you are talking about? It is cheaper than other two.

Doru, I believe Michelin Pilot Road 2CT tyres are in question. My wife uses them now on her F800ST. They were a revelation when new but now, after 8 Kkm, they are moderate.

I am stuck to Z6 - it's a pity did not replace the set in Garmisch. Will do it soon.
The roadsmarts are single-component tyres, there is hardly a miracle, will not last long, imho, especially the front.

Take care!

BTW, do PR2 require special rating/marking for use on KGT?
Like Z6s need "c" for front and "k" for the rear?

Take care!

Talking PR2s!

Neither-Michelin Pilot Road 2s! I can honestly say that after 2k miles I am totally blown away by the superior handling characteristics of the PR2s in the twisties. I have had 2 sets of Z6s and BTs on my previous GT. They all only lasted 6k miles and were not very confidence inspiring. If the PR2s last more than 6k miles I will be hard pressed to ever buy another brand tire again for the GT.

I have been running the Z6's on my last bike and on the GT. Out of every tire that I have used, the Z6's are the best overall. I currently have over 9K on the front and got just over 7k on the rear (might have 1k left but replaced it for my Deals Gap trip a couple weeks ago). I am always open to the possiblilty of better handling tires with better milage........

just my 2 cents....

Somebody please edit this poll and add the Pilot Road 2s, they rock.

As for BT's they are good if you need to protect your wheels from getting dented or scratched, but that's 'bout it.

I have a Bridgestone BT021, which is a dual compound, on the rear wheel of my GT. I am pretty happy with the way the bike held on the Dragon with the 21's.
