Run-in Pics!

Hi there All,

Well, the weekend is finished, and the I have finally worked out how to post pics in this post.

I wanted to give you guys a feedback on my shiny new GT. Here is the girl in all her splendour on the first ride.

As I have the privilege to live near the Alps, what better way to run in the bike on a ride through the Alps on a sunny Saturday I decided to ride over 6 Passes (actually 7 was the idea, but I took a wrong turn and then I ran out of time).

It has been a long time since since I have had so much fun in 1 day!

So here are the Passes in order:

Schwägalp with Mt. Säntis in the background

Klausner Pass

Susten Pass

Grimsel Pass

Between Grimsel and Furka Pass

Furka Pass

Oberalp Pass

The ride took me about 10hrs, and it was in total 650km. I will write more about my experiences with the bike itself in another post.

I hope you enjoy the pics, as much as I did actually doing it

Just simply magnificent...the GT and the surroundings!

Many thanks for the post and congratulations on your new bike. May all your miles be happy (although I can't imagine they wouldn't be if you live in that neighborhood)!

Simply beautiful roads through the Alps... I can imagine how that must feel. I did notice on one picture that you used your centerstand and side stand at the same time... just mak'in sure, I know... Bike looks just like mine but we don't have the views in NJ like you have!!! Congrats.

Wink This is not fair

Please don't post anymore pictures. You are making this flat-lander jealous.

Also I don't see the boat in the pictures.

I hate you.

Man, what a dream. I was just telling a bud at the office of stories I've heard about old men riding two up on a /6 blowing sport bikes, etc. out of the water on them roads.

Excellent pics, but that bike is way too clean. Mine hasn't looked like that since it left the dealer.

I really need to get back over there and run some of those passes again.

Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for pics of some of what I did in 1992 on an Edelweiss tour. I really would like to go again, but they have an age limit and I am over it. Maybe, one day, I will do it again on my own renting a bike in Munich or somewhere else near the Alps. I still ski in the Alps.

Why?

Why is your bike always pictured separately from the others? Are they jealous? At least I am... concerning your pictures. Nothing but slab, heat and brown earth in my neck of the woods (or lack thereof).
