FD oil with only 100 miles on the bike

Its the new GSA. Changed its FD oil with less than 100 miles. Here is what the old oil looked like....

That looks pretty crappy, but I'd make sure to change it again at 600 or so. You will still have some break in remnants...

Prolly right.

BUt what did not come across in the picture was this graphit looking grey streaky looking (non magnetic) crud in the oil..... I was thinking of sending it to blackstone just to know, maybe I will do the 600 mile flush and see what they say

BTW when I did the GT, the hard way, the oil had same kind of crud but nearly as much. This was at 12k.

I think I'm just going to flush these things every time I take the rear tire off....

At only 100miles on the FD you are not going to show much wear in the oil anyway.
Maybe the factory gear oil is supposed to look like that.

I thought but could be wrong, that the reason for the first flush was more for some kind of machining compound than it was for wear......

correct me if i'm wrong

i think rear end and tranny oil are not for lubrication, rather for cooling. dont worry about it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'd be more concerned about metal particles than color.
