Looks lke a torture device, hope I never have to test it. Seemd like a good idea. Anoyone else have one, or am I the laughing stock? I remember how I got ripped a couple years ago for being giddy about the air-bag jackets...

I hadn't heard about this either, but here you go . They call it a "helmet for your neck". I'd like to learn more -- let us know how comfortable it is and whether/how much it restricts head movement.

From the web site:
To achieve this we studied the range of movement requirements for the different types of motorcycles and the disposable income of the market attracted to these motorcycles.

Good thing we have enough disposable income

Good one, Tim...

Talked to a guy last week up on the BRPW that was wearing one.. He said you get used to it after an hour or two.. Looked kinda stupid.. the neck brace.. not the guy..

Brahma,
Great purchase. If you're needing confirmation of your purchase decision. You'll probably find more support on the dirt bike forums. Some of the gear manufacturers are making their jackets so they are a seamless integration with the Leatt. As far as cost. There used to be 3 different options. If you could do without the carbon fiber model, the price isn't too bad. Certainly cheaper than a wheel chair.
Regards, Dave

That's good!!... Coincidentally.. I low slided at the Roebling Road track a few weeks ago.. My head hit the pavement hard.. Nothing major.. plastic damage, badly bruised left arm, and maybe a cracked rib. Felt OK until I got home then my neck started hurting...Took a full 2 weeks for the pain to go away.. I wonder if wearing this neck brace would have made things better? or recovery time faster? Makes a person wonder..

Jeez! I assume you were wearing full gear? Leather? Textile? Do you wonder if you could have been wearing anything different other than the neck thingy?
