The BMW Logo

I know this isn't really doesn't belong on this board, but you folks seem to know everything so I thought I would ask.

A few days ago while riding home from work, I came up on a 300 series BMW. I noticed that the medallion was a little different. I always thought they were white and blue, but this one was white and red.

Is there some significance to the different color or did the owner just alter the logo?

Just owner preference. The 3'ers are a lively bunch who tend to mod their cars quite a bit (myself included!) Just have a gander on e90post.com to see what I'm talking about.

The colors are just overlay stickers that cover the blue part with whatever color you want, even carbon fiber looking stuff... you can get them here:

If you were interested in whether they can go on your bike roundel, pm me and we'll compare dimensions from the car.

I've also wanted to modify my roundels, but more along the lines of my avatar . . .

Thanks for the information. I was thinking there was something special about the that particular 3 Series.

I like the original blue and white version. I think I'll keep mine as is.

Thanks again.

Here's a page that explains some logos

http://w6rec.com/duane/bmw/emblem/index.htm

I was reading that the logo originated from the Bavarian flag and a spinning propeller
