Fuel gage

First issue with the new GT. I fueled up this morning and the gage still reads empty and my low fuel light has been flashing all day. Had the bike on and off several times. I was thinking about disconnecting the battery to see if it resets. Any thoughts?

There have been a few folks here on the boards with fuel gauge problems. There is a reset the dealer can do either on the computer or if they take the part off the tank (I think). Most fixes is just a new sender, under warranty of course, problem solved.

Thanks! Dang. I was hoping this didn't mean a trip to the dealer. Actually, the dealer is fine, I just hate having the bike laid up.

Well, dropped off my bike last Thursday evening for the fuel gauge fix (gauge only showed empty with warning light on) and picked it up on Friday afternoon and everything looks fine. Drove around for a couple of hours and topped it off with gas before going home. Life's good again. One week later and 170 miles and the gauge still reads full. Arghhh! Looks like I'm heading back to the dealer.
I hope that this time I get out of there for inder $450. (what I spent for Hyper lights and boots and pants for the GF) this time.

Did I mention that I love this bike?
