motorcycle radar install

I'll be installing the motorcycle specific radar detector
http://www.adaptivtechnologies.com/
on the K. Has anyone done this? It seems really simple and I plan to go directly to the battery without using the bus power. I really need this little helper on my trips. I can't afford to be caught (again).

Radar install

It is very simple. The only difficulty I had was putting the tank cover back on. The radar detective harness is bulky and makes for a challenging fit. I purchased the visual alert accessory also which meant more wires to hide. In my opinion the system is very sensitive, even in "citynox" and leads to a lot of false alerts, however I haven't had the chance to use it on the open highway. I'm sure it will pay for itself once I get out there.

thanks

I just installed it and it is way easy. A few false alarts is a small price to pay for not getting a ticket. It looks pretty cool, I think, as well. I got the wireless audio alert.

Radar Install

This is my only; visible V1 hardware. (you do need to add a powered speaker) I used the one available for the Escort system.

Where did you hide the detector?

Radar Detector

The V1 Is Under The Front Cowl, Sealed In A Quart Zip Close Freezer Bag. There Is Just Enough Cavity To Accommodate The Detector, the Connector Block And Unit Used To Relay The Audo Signal. The Remote Console Is The Only V1 Unit Exposed. The Power Speaker Offered By Escort Plugged Into The Speaker Socket Of The Audio Accessory For The Vi Alerts Me At Any Speed I Can Drive Up To A Ton. Have'nt Tested Over That Speed. I Had To Invert The Metal Brace So It Does Not Block Forward View. Of Course The Laser Alert Does Not Work. But Laser Alert Is Useless, As As Soon As It Goes Off, You Are Toast Anyway. I Just Disabled Laser On The V1.

Not true. Twice the V1 has saved me from a laser hit.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Rusty,

I'm not sure what you mean by the front cowl. Do you mean the black plastic cover under the windshield? Sorry to be so dense, but I really like your idea and would like to get my radar detector off the handelbar and out of sight.
