Scam Alert

well it's official. I have been scammed by a member on this site.

Recently a member by the name of Burromanadero posted that he had some 07 GT parts for sale. He even provided a link to pictures of GT parts. Everything looked legit. I sent a PM requesting prices on a few things. His communication was very poor, he did not seem to know the names of the parts. Well like an idiot I sent him about $200 for some items. After a few days he sends a PM saying there were some problems with Paypal and I should send the money again. A check of my paypal account showed that he had received the money. Needless to say I never heard from him again after I told him that paypal had paid him.

I have filed a fraud alert with paypal and notified my credit card company. Hopefully I can get my money back.

I just don't want anyone here to fall victim to this SOB.

I guess I will have to beware of sellers with too few posts.

Pay-Pal should be able to charge back the dudes' account and put it back in yours. If not call your credit card and dispute the charges. I have done this a few time on stuff I did not authorize to be charged to my card.

What an ASS. Guys like that should burn in hell.

He had to have had a valid bank account. See if paypal can give you his name and number. Let us know.

I've been through this. Paypal can't charge back if the bank account linked to it is empty.

I've had some good dealings selling stuff on this forum. It's unfortunate that scumbags like this one ruin it for everyone.

Good thing it was only $200. I asked him about the engine!

Yeah. I know what that feels like. I got scammed once by these guys:

BMW Oil Change Kit

plus a quart of their gear oil at $23:

BMW Gear Oil

Seriously. Is BMW oil now $20 a quart? I thought Amsoil motorcycle oil was high at $15 per quart.

Do-it-yourself oil change for $106 plus final oil and shipping and sales tax equals maybe $145.00? Their shop doing it would be well over $230. Cripes!

I don't know where you're buying your oil, but Amsoil ain't $15/qt. That price for BMW oil sounds really high, too.

Sorry that you got ripped off. I've bought and sold a few things on this and other similar boards and one of the things I've learned is that its very important to have an actual voice converstation with a seller. Not that it is foolproof, but you can get a sense about the seller that may help avoid a mistake. If I get a bad vibe, I move on.
Hope you get some relief.

I once sold a pair of barbacks to a member of the group for a VERY good price and it pissed me off that he never said so much as "thank you". I'm really sorry to hear about your experience....much worse.
