Farkled Up my 1300GT

I just spent the day in the garage farling up my new 1300GT. Bob Rasters came by to help out and we got busy on it about 9:30 this morning. I failed to take any pics during the process but I had her stripped down pretty far with nary a red piece of plastic on her anywhere. Here's what she's got now -
  • VStream Windshield
  • TechMount GT Handlebar mount holding a Garmin Zumo 550
  • Garmin XM Satellite puck custom mounted in wind deflector (thanks k-bikes.com!
  • Techmount switchgear mount holding a Valentine 1 in a Legal Speeding box
  • Autocom Pro AVI comm system
  • Motolights on Caliper mounts (amber bulbs)
  • Stebel Nautilus horn
  • ZTeknik CF tank protector
  • Tech-Spec Gripster knee pads
  • Rick Mayer Saddles
  • Parate's Lair helmet lock
There are some pictures of the finished product on my website at the link below.

Will do, there's some good riding down there that I don't get to play on nearly enough! Also, I put on a ride to Cambria every May, this year the 9 - 10. Mainly folks ride in from various places and meet for a visit, some food and a couple of beers. Feel free to come up and join us, we've got about 85 people coming in so far. Here's a link to the info if you want to ride up and hang out with us.

Now that I have my bike back with a new starter switch assembly, I added the V-Stream windshield I bought from Pirate's Lair . What a difference! I'm 6'3" and the turbulence with the stock screen wasn't satisfactory.

I finally got my Zumo 660 and I installed it with the ZTechnik GT Tech Mount. I'm really happy with the results. I especially like the cover Garmin supplies to hid the connectors when the 660 is in the Glove Box.

Got a couple of question on the ordering of the Garmin Zumo 660. The best price was using the AMA discount. There is plenty of info at zumoforums.com.

I ordered it directly from Garmin on April 17th and got it this past week.

Horn Pics

Do you have any pics or advise of how you installed the Stebel horn? I have one on order, and am picking up my new K1300GT on the 13th. I test rode a bike at my dealer and tried the horn, man did it suck. One of the first farkles for this bike.

Search on Strebel there are a lot of hits and if they are like the 06-08's then there is room under the side panels. Linky
