07 seat vs 08??

Hello
I need to get a spare seat for my 2008 kgt, and I'd like to know if the 2007 seat would fit. Can anyone confirm?

BTW if you happen to have an 08 seat please let me know.

Thanks.

Bests Regards

The '07, '08, and '09 seats are interchangeable. The '06 bikes had a different seat, but you can use those if you replace both front and rear at the same time.

You can find a pic of the differences in this post.

All lower 48 states plus Alaska on the K13GT in two weeks . . .

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

If I recall correctly, early '07 seats matched the '06 seats. Late '07 seats matched the '08 seats. BMW changed seat types in the middle of the 2007 production run.

A few non-US people reported that their dealer exchanged their unused older style seats for the newer style under warranty, but those reports were rare. More than a few people in the U.S. tried the same thing, but none succeeded. (Or if they did, they kept it to themselves.)

You are correct - I have an early build '07 (SEP06) that has the "first generation" (2006) seat. I am still working with BMWNA for a replacement. Finally sent a letter to BMW in Germany about it - now waiting.
