'09 K1300GT fuel question

Can someone with an '09GT tell me what indications they get on their displays when the fuel remaining gets down to the reserve level? I am not getting the yellow caution triangle all the way down to zero fuel in the tank.
thanks

Not what you're looking for... But honestly, I don't recall. I ran mine outta gas (<2 miles from the highway service station - but uphill miles).

I know the countdown said 4 when I was empty. I THINK the thing was yelling at me. I'll get it low again, so wait a week or so, I'm sure I'll have an answer.

My 08 GT: Yellow triangle warning and gas pump icon flashes, then miles to go counts down and gas pump icon flashes. Then I drove mine 40 miles past 'zero miles to go' indication, then pumped in gas to the top of the neck and it took 5.65 gallons. Don't know what tank is supposed to hold, but it looks like there is about a one gallon "reserve" after the computer thinks you are empty. On that tank I got 42mpg and change as measured above and went 238 miles. That's about as far as I want to push it without carrying a spare gas can as pushing bikes stopped for me with my 74 Norton (380lbs). YMMV.

Good to know I have been afraid to push it. The tank hold 6.3 gallons. I think I'm going to carry a one gallon gas can and run it until it dies to see exactly what the story is because that light comes on way before you have 40 miles to empty.

I agree with these numbers and indications 100%.

I would not recommend doing a run dry test though. Submerged (in tank) high pressure fuel pumps need fuel for cooling and lubrication. Even running them dry once has an effect on there longevity..

I just keep the above numbers in my mind, do the calculations and hopefully know when the engine will actually stop do to fuel exhaustion...
