K1300GT Rear Shock for K1200GT

I have a 2007 K1200GT that I have set up the way I want. I as wondering if anyone knows if the rear shock & spring setup from the new K1300GT can be fitted to the K1200GT. The reason that I would like to do this is that I would really like to be able to adjust the spring rate for my weight. I have asked a dealer and I m waiting for his response, but I would like to get some feedback from forum members.

Thanks,
Karl Riemer

Are you looking for the fully adjustable suspension, or just a one-time change to suit your weight?

If your '07 has ESA, then you might be able to use an '09 shock. If your '07 doesn't have ESA, then you're talking about a ton of cash to upgrade if it's even possible.

Otherwise, I'd contact a custom shock place and see if they can re-spring your stock shock. I believe Works can rebuild/replace the ESA shocks, so they may be your best bet.

All lower 48 states plus Alaska on the K13GT in two weeks . . .

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

I looked up the price on a 07 rear shock once. Shocking is what I found out. It was like 2700 bucks!!! I bet the 09 will be even more. When that time comes I will have it rebuilt if possible or aftermarket here I come
