That would be Margaret Peart from Australia with 58,328 miles in 6 months, which puts her second overall. I met her a couple of times last year and let me tell you, that lady can ride.
To give you some idea of what I mean, Margaret started the contest in April in Panama city as she was making her way from Ushuaia, Argentina up to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska (yes, the entire length of South America, Central America, and North America). From there, Margaret rode to Key West, Florida, which is the longest corner-to-corner ride you can go in the US. She also visited all 49 continental US states (in 10 days) and most Canadian provinces.
In fact, I also know the 2nd and 3rd place female finishers and those ladies could easily outride most of the guys I know.
I've also met or at least corresponded with most of the top-10 male riders. When you do this many miles, you're bound to run into some very interesting folks along the way.
